Self-service terminals
Check-in and information system of the self-service terminals for development of the Public Transport of Pilsen
The pilot operation of the self-service terminals project was commenced on October 1, 2007 by the PCTC in cooperation with the city of Pilsen.
There were five terminals in Pilsen, used for all parts of the planned system – the check-in system, reservation system and public internet connection. Pilsen became the first city in the Czech Republic where this unique system was in operation.
This project was financially supported by the European Union (Structural Funds).
Together with these five terminals the necessary technological base for the whole system with interconnection to the already-existing Pilsen Card system, was established. The pilot terminal installation was at the following locations:
- Lochotín – City District1 office building
- Slovany – City District 2 office building
- Czech Railways, Main Railway Station entrance hall
- University of West Bohemia – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering building, Bory
- Bory –terminal stop of tram line 4
The pilot operation was finished on December 31, 2007 with the installation of the next twenty terminals, which are placed not only in Pilsen but also in several surrounding towns and villages belonging to the Integrated Transport of the Pilsen Region system.
Since July1, 2010, the last installed terminal has been available at Denisovo nábřeží 12, by the entrance to the Customer Centre.

We believe that the self-service terminal system is another step to the easier use of the Pilsen Card. We hope it will make your travelling through the city and its surroundings comfortable and it will provide further benefits which extend the whole Pilsen Card system.
